| Advanced Tooling Technologies.... .... experience, skill and know-how. Hotflo has extensive experience in creating high technology tooling for pressure Die Casting. We work very closely with our customers to create production tooling which is highly productive, reliable and easy to maintain. Design TeamGood tooling doesn't just happen. People make it happen. Our design staff become an extension of your manufacturing team, in order to complete a specific project. Die and Process Design The key step in creating dies that produce high quality parts at high production rates and low defect levels is to ensure that the process capabilities are fully analysed at the design stage. We can perform this process for you, or supply the software and training and assistance so you can do it yourself. Die Layouts We can supply you with a die layout setting out the position of the cavities, runners and gating, die cooling lines, venting and vacuum ducts and vents if required. This can be used to obtain quotations for tooling, or given to your toolmaker to produce the detailed tool design. Flow Simulation We can supply you with flow simulation models which show how the metal flows through the gates and into the cavity and overflows. This can be very useful in refining the metal feed system design to improve the product quality. Die Manufacture If required, we can manufacture and supply you with complete Die Cast tooling, or parts of the tooling such as inserts and components. We have extensive experience in the application of advanced technologies to dies of all descriptions. This includes thermocouple placement, hot sprue systems, cavity pressure measurement, pulse cooling, die heating systems, high conductivity metals, as well as thermal barriers and insulators. The use of appropriate technologies can dramatically improve the quality and productive output of a die. We manufacture the dies using High Speed Machining. Complex three dimensional shapes are converted directly to cutter paths which are downloaded to high speed machining centres. With use of state-of-the-art cutter technology, cavities are cut directly into fully hardened tool steel. This is all done on the machine, with no manual content. The result is high integrity surfaces which need little or no polishing, extremely accurate tooling and long production life. |
